Last night Whang's Brother and sister in law and their daughter yaya came for dinner..it was yummy meats but jessica didn't know how to describe one of the meats. later she said pig and i said thats not pork, she said no inside a pig! haha They took me to the oylimpic Park which was great and massive but freezing!!!
Breakfast this morning was wafers, an egg roll that was delicious (like a sweet yellow biscuit) and a bowl of grey purple stuff that was pulverised sesame seeds and something else...that didn't go down too well. I am now loving my wooden bed and sleeping like a baby! beautiful shower too! I'll try and take some photo's of the outside of the house in the day time.
I was picked up at 8..It was cold! and taken to ACIC's office to meet the other girls, there we found out that alot of the things that were promised weren't true and alot of things that we didn't know about were expected to happen...like the (very personal) medical exam! so things got a bit heated because we felt like we'd been completely lied to so spent a fair while on the phone to RMIT and other people trying to figure out who was to blame. One of the most annoying things is that our schedule is far too full on and we are expected to be at the kindergarten 5 days all day, mandarin on saturdays (on the other side of the city) and spend sunday with the family. So somewhere in there we have to do all our Uni work and try to see a bit of china! Jessie and the other men are all lovely though at the office and we felt so bad for getting angry at them because we knew it wasn't their fault!
Anyway hopefully tomorrow we will know more because I think they knew we were pretty annoyed. After that 2 men David and Boris (they have the funniest english names) took just to electronic city to buy a phone. I ended up just buying the cheapest one there which they convinced me I couldn't find cheaper but its a dodgy phone and still cost me $60 australian...I wanted to ring you Mike because I wanted to buy a better one but wasn't sure if I could use it in Oz when i get back?!?! also we bought a chinese sim which they told us could contct australia.......It cant. so tomorrow we have to buy an international sim.
We took a taxi to a temple fair (Boris didn't know what the temple was called haha) but it was the last day of the fair and it was crazy! so many people and so many stupid looking hats that the adults seem to love! after that we went home via subway to try to learn our way around...I'm about to have dinner but am constantly scared to go to the toilet to see how the food is reacting with me!
Doris is Sooo cute and I'm teaching her how to take photos so i'll put a few up! (the fireworks have just started up outside the house again...I'm sure sometimes im in the soviet union during an air raid!!
